New York City Business Leadership Network Announces Brandon M. Macsata as Interim Executive Director, serving in this capacity until December 31, 2011

NEW YORK, NY (August 24, 2011) - The New York City Business Leadership Network, otherwise known as NYCBLN, announced today the appointment of Brandon M. Macsata, Managing Partner of The Macsata-Kornegay Group (TMKG), as its Interim Executive Director through December 31, 2011.  Macsata has served as the organization’s General Consultant since January 2010, as well as General Consultant for the US Business Leadership from 2007-2009.  He will succeed Joan McGovern, who served as the NYCBLN’s inaugural Executive Director.

"The New York City Business Leadership Network is excited to have the proven leadership, commitment and expertise of Brandon Macsata to assist our local BLN affiliate continue to grow and prosper," said Mavis Hall, NYCBLN Board Chair, and Affirmative Action Compliance Officer for Queensborough Community College.  “Brandon has been with the NYCBLN since its inception – not only as a consultant, but also as a corporate member and chair of our corporate membership committee.  His appointment secures the needed continuity and stability during this transitional phase."

Since December 2009, Macsata has served as the General Consultant to the NYCBLN; in that capacity he has helped with the NYCBLN’s branding, marketing and communication strategies, as well as position the organization among the leading business-to-business voices in New York City.  Notably, as General Consultant he also coordinated and implemented the complete overhaul of the US Business Leadership Network’s affiliate, communication, marketing, programmatic and fundraising strategies from 2007-2009.

Hall further stated, “We’re especially thankful to Joan McGovern who has provided us with unwavering leadership for the last nearly two years since the NYCBLN first started to organize.”

The mission of the New York City Business Leadership Network is to provide organizational support, awareness, education and other resources to area businesses to assist employers with hiring and retaining people with disabilities. The end result of the NYCBLN will be an increased level of employment of people with disabilities in the New York City area.  The NYCBLN is a proud affiliate of the US Business Leadership Network (USBLN®).
